Spanning 15 meters, this panoramic mural unfolds as a journey through interconnected environments filled with diverse representations of people, industries, and activities, integral to the dynamic ecosystem of the Slough Trading Estate. It’s a narrative-driven artwork, inviting viewers to glimpse a parallel dimension where reality blends with fantasy.

Next Stop: Future
Once upon a time in the familiar setting of a commuter bus, dawn just beginning to filter through the windows. The hum of conversation, rustling pages of the newspaper and the smell of freshly-roasted coffee were suddenly interrupted as a glowing strip of light wove through the space, symbolising creativity and possibility ignited within each passenger. The mundane commute transforms through the lens of imagination, guided by this luminous thread from routine reality into realms of possibility, blurring the boundaries between present and future. The commuters, once lost in their own worlds, now become part of a fantastical journey.

The Central Scene: Innovation and Growth
In the central section, the scene transforms into a vibrant workspace with a majestic tree, its branches adorned with warm glowing lanterns, symbolising growth and interconnectedness. People from various sectors—catering, hospitality, logistics, data management, medical research, automotive, and creative industries—work side by side, fostering a dynamic environment where nature and technology blend seamlessly. This central hub, bathed in a dynamic palette of purples, blues and greens, represents SEGRO’s vision of a place where businesses thrive, and innovation is the heartbeat of the community. Among these scenes, a sleek blue car, a nod to the estate’s automotive past and the iconic Ford GT40 that was created there, reimagined as an electric vehicle, charges quietly. It symbolises the rich history of the trading estate and bridges the past and future, embodying the spirit of innovation and progress.

Sustainability and the Future
The colours shift to warm yellows and greens, evoking a sense of optimism and vitality as the mural opens to an urban landscape bathed in warm sunlight. The air is fresh, filled with the scent of blooming flowers and the hum of renewable energy. A young woman stands on a balcony, overlooking a city alive with lush gardens, sleek futuristic architecture, and sustainable technology.
Further along, a billboard catches the eye, celebrating the trading estate’s journey from past to present. This bookend mirrors the mundane morning commute on the left, but now the ordinary is imbued with extraordinary possibilities envisioned through imagination.
