About The Jazzy Mural
The roots of Jazz was forged within a melting pot of different cultures, much the same as Slough. The saxophonist is a busker called Joseph, he is painted in monochrome, creating a stark contrast between the monochrome and the colour, this illustrates that if you’re feeling grey and colourless, music can uplift you and transport you to a world of pure colour, joy and happiness.
The colourful flowers and musical notes dance happily out of the sax, representing the harmonious flow of life on the streets, life that is both vibrant and abundant. The mural brings a rhapsody of colours to give moments of delight to people as they go about their busy lives.
About The Artist
Maralin is a versatile artist, creating commissioned portraits and designs from her home studio in Burnham. She has a design background and has created designs that have sold in three major retailers. She has a creative mind, full of ideas and loves to design a unique piece of art for each person, bringing the client’s ideas to life.
Maralin is also passionate about creating work that helps a cause, or conveys a message, as shown in her Black Lives Matter collection and The Oz Bush Fire appeal, where she raised over £300 to help the rescued koala’s. Currently, she is part of a major ongoing project to help improve a town and has designed and painted a lamppost and a 13 metre brightly coloured mural.
Working in various mediums and materials, acrylic, watercolour, coloured pencils, oil pastels, mixed media and external paint (outside murals), she is a passionate artist with her own unique style. Maralin loves a challenge and will work on smaller scale paintings up to large mural scale work.
