SLOUGH MY TOWN

From the other side of the world

I left my country, my town, my people.

And moved to Slough,

My new town.

From the moment I came,

I felt the friendliness of the people.

From bus stops to cafes,

I felt the embrace of the community.

From my journey of loneliness,

Slough helped me find new friends.

In the clubs and community groups

I found meaning and purpose again.

Slough feels like a sanctuary.

I gained peace and wisdom.

Confidence to give back to the community.

And bring wellness to the town.

Living in Harmony was born in 2014.

Providing self-care and positivity

It’s a ray of sunlight.

Just like this town was for me.

I am most grateful to my town for

Inspiring hundreds of volunteers

To hold hands together as “One Slough”

and make Slough a sanctuary for all.
