Work Experience Opportunities
Our Work Experience opportunities help local residents gain practical experience in a workplace and develop a better understanding of the world of work.
Our Industry-Specific Sessions are part of Viva Slough’s Employability Programme, helping local residents learn more about different sectors, the roles available and the skills employers are looking for.
These sessions give you the opportunity to hear directly from employers and industry professionals, ask questions and gain a better understanding of what it is like to work in a particular sector.
Each session focuses on a specific industry or area of employment and may include:
Choosing a career path can be challenging, especially if you are unfamiliar with an industry. Our sessions help you explore different options, understand what employers are looking for and make more informed decisions about your next step.
You don’t need to have previous experience in the sector. The sessions are designed to help you discover opportunities and understand how your existing skills and experience could transfer into different roles.
Industry-specific sessions are part of our wider Employability Programme and can lead into other opportunities, including CV and LinkedIn support, mock interviews, work experience, employer networking and Talent Connect events.
